Welcome to 2012! Instead of reading this in your email, try clicking on this link www.liftjesuscross.wordpress.com and read comments made on some of the posts. People are emailing me with sweet reports of victory over self-rejection and self-hatred, too. Let’s get free and focused so we can run the race before us in 2012!
Self-Hatred Thoughts—Satan’s “I Hate You” Radio Show
Wild title again, eh? Well, “let’s have at it!” I want to see every single Christian on this planet free from self-hatred. For those few who may not deal with thoughts of self-hatred, let me define a few of them here:
- Ew. I’m getting old.
- Who do I think I am getting up in front of people?
- Why am I so stupid when it comes to . . .
- I hate my ______________. (nose, teeth, pick a body part)
- How can I say I’m a Christian when I know I failed/sinned/made a huge blunder
- BIG ONE–pictures of times you failed or felt ashamed flashes into your mind.
- Nobody likes me. I don’t even like myself.
- Shame . . . guilt . . . condemnation . . . anxiety . . . self-hatred . . .
I’m sure there are other thoughts I’ve not mentioned. Where do we get all those thoughts, anyway? The ACCUSER. If he can’t get you to listen to them, he’ll accuse you through someone you know, someone who’s a part of your world. Forgive them. They just tuned into Satan’s “I HATE YOU” radio show and repeated what they heard.
Look at this little girl. She’s standing there with an umbrella in a horrible storm. Don’t you want to run out to her and bring her inside your house where it’s safe and warm?
Not Satan. If he sees a little girl surrounded by a terrible storm, he runs out to her and takes away her umbrella, pushes her in the mud, then laughs as she cries. I really want you to “get the picture” so you can recognize Satan’s “I Hate You” radio show.
THEN GOD SPEAKS.
Now have come the salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah.
For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down (Revelation 12:10).
Notice that the authority of the Messiah came with a LOUD VOICE!!!!
Now until this day when Satan is permanently cast into the abyss, he sneaks around assigning his demon buddies to harass us with accusations. The only way to overcome those accusations is to “Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7).” How do you do that? Say this out loud:
“I throw that thought DOWN in Jesus’ name. I resist you, Satan. Now get out in the name of Jesus.”
Still having trouble wrapping your mind (the battlefield truly is the mind) around this one? Check out the Amplified version of II Corinthians 10:4,5:
For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,5[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ.
We must CAPTURE all thoughts that are not of God and THROW THEM DOWN!! Tell those nasty self-hating thoughts to OBEY JESUS AND SUBMIT TO HIM!!
This takes work on our part. We have to DO something besides be a receptor for Satan’s “I Hate You” radio show. Just like Jesus, resist him OUT LOUD. Can you recall a thought of self-hatred or condemnation or guilt that has crossed your frontal lobes within the last 24 hours? Time to resist—OUT LOUD. Say this:
“That thought is NOT from God. I throw down that thought in Jesus’ name. I resist you. Now get out in the name of Jesus.”
So, let’s tune out that I HATE YOU Radio show and tune into GOD’s LOVE and VICTORY! When my children were small we sang and ran all over the living room waving banners and stomping and having a blast in general singing “I Went to the Enemy’s Camp and Took Back What he Stole from Me.” Has Satan tried to steal your integrity, Christian? Has he challenged your identity as a child of God? Is he pushing the limits and going after your thoughts, your health, your finances? It’s time to GET IT BACK!! SATAN IS UNDER OUR FEET! Let’s turn off that “I Hate You” radio show and hop around the house with the VICTORY!

Great Post Hope. Very timely as I am right in the middle of some accusation myself! Happy New Year! Jeff

Gosh, Hope: You keep opening cans of things that I have so much to say about, but too much for a comment on a blog page. I personally think hatred is too strong a word. More like self-doubt or self- esteem. I like to put satan in a position of being afraid of me, rather than hating me.
Too much more to say – so I’ll stop here, with this thought: satan (small s ) has as much power as
as a fortune in a fortune cookie, that ‘you’ have to open and read and believe for it to effect your life. I don’t read them. Two are better than one – A three stranded cord is not easily broken –
Love your neighbor as you love yourself. We need to lift up and encourage one another daily and be filled with love and hope, so we don’t put so much focus on our selves, then the enemy has no foothold. I appreciate your page. Have a blessed day.

Mark, I think the strength of the hate varies from person to person, depending upon how much we allow him to infiltrate. The fortune cookie/airwave is a close analogy. We have to not read that mail, not sign for that package, turn off that radio show–and love! Yes, it’s even too much to say in one blog. So I actually wrote several blogs all in one day so I could break this down bite by bite. And keep talking–you have a LOT to contribute here.

It kind of parallels this post. Thanks, Hope

I encouraged Mark to put up this blog that he wrote earlier. It’s amazing how he gives us a picture of that radio station. Love it! Click on the link if you have a moment.

Good scripture, Larry. This is a good time of year to shake off the old accuser and be renewed in the spirit of our mind. To everyone— If you didn’t get to see the New Years bell there is a list there of who we are in Jesus Christ. Great bell “to ring” in the New Year!
