A New Day Begins–A Poem

Today is a new day with no mistakes in it.  Hope is the expectation of future good.  It’s easier to see that hope when you go to the garden and watch . . .  listen . . .

Woodpecker drills a hollow tree.

Red jay flowers my tulip bed.

Rising sun warms my skin—

A new day.

Chickadee calls—flits on lilacs.

Lavender bounces in pink.

Another drill in the distance—

A new day.

Mother Goose and Father Goose take wing,

A journey just for two.

Committed only to each other—

A new day.

Robin perches low and sings

A greeting to the sun above,

A song to me below—

A new day.

Flash of yellow on pale green.

I cannot reach my camera for

It’s faster than my hand.

A new day begins.

. . . with no mistakes in it.

About Lift the Cross of Jesus!

My day job is writing--I'm an author and publisher of a number of books. More on that later. But there is nothing of greater importance to me than the early morning hours I spend with the Creator of the Universe. Although He knows everything there is to know, His greatest delight isn't to give us knowledge, but to give us love. My highest joy is to watch the sun rise with notebook in hand and write the words he speaks to my heart. I want to share some of those words with you here . . . words on the cross.
