Have you ever wondered how you would respond if faced with persecution in the United States? Under intense persecution in Egypt, Christians there have decided to lift up the cross of Jesus in a very unique way.
My friend Kathie Walters is helping a small group of Christians in Egypt as they await their asylum papers. Kathie said, “The picture is the tattoo of the cross on their wrists. In Egypt they couldn’t openly speak much about their hero, Jesus, so most Christians have crosses tattooed on their wrists.”
The Christians Kathie is helping go to a church that was immediately targeted when the Brotherhood people came into power, because their church hosted most of the missionaries when they were ministering in Egypt.
If you’re feeling nudged to help these Christians, you may donate clothing by emailing Kathie’s friend Nancy at nancyholtzclaw@aol.com and you may donate money one of two ways:
1. Send a gift (small gifts help, too!) via Pay Pal to kathiewalters@mindspring.com Simply write “Egypt” in the note box.
2. Call Kathie’s office for information on where to send checks. You may call Monday – Friday, 10AM to 5PM, at (478) 757-8071
I find it fascinating that these Christians have “marked themselves” as followers of Jesus in a nation where Jesus is persecuted. One day multitudes of people worldwide will “mark themselves” as followers of the beast, the anti-Christ, because they will not be able to buy or sell without that mark.
Now is the time to decide which mark we will take in that day. Now is the time to win our neighbors and family to Christ. Now is the time to promote Jesus Christ and lift His cross!
Thank you for sharing this, Hope. These dear people are in my prayers. It is so inspiring to see them lifting high the cross in such a dire situation.

Anna, thank you so much for your prayers. “More things are wrought by prayers than this world dreams of.” I have two updates on the Egyptian cross bearers:
1. They are now in Atlanta waiting for their Asylum papers so they can legally work. We want them to have a nice first Christmas in America, plus they need rent, food, personal items etc.
2. If you’d like to donate clothing or other items, there is an email address change. Please email Nancy at nancyholtzclaw@aol.com
Please do not feel guilted into doing anything! ONLY give as God leads you whether through prayer, finances, clothing, or simply smile and cheer the rest of us onward. : )
