The Saints are Dreaming

Dreams. Will God use dreams today?

Maybe you believe that God stopped giving dreams to people after Jacob’s ladder or Paul’s vision of Cornelius saying come to Macedonia or Peter’s trance or Pilate’s wife’s dream that warned her not to participate in Jesus’ crucifixion? Well, even if you do believe that, there is a verse that cannot be disputed that tells us in the last days, dreams will be needed, coveted, and a great HELP to the saints who must endure to the end:

17 ‘In the last days,’ God says,     ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy.     Your young men will see visions,     and your old men will dream dreams. 18 In those days I will pour out my Spirit     even on my servants—men and women alike—     and they will prophesy (Acts 2:16-18).

The dreams are happening, and many are being ministered to as God pours out His Spirit on His bride in these last days.

First, I’d like to share a dream from Kathy Balcombe, highly respected wife of DennisBalcombe Family Balcombe, missionaries to China and Hong Kong. I know Kathy personally and I can tell you she is the REAL DEAL. In fact, Chinese house church Christians have said, “Dennis Balcombe is the father of the house church movement in China.”

Kathy shared her dream on Facebook and gave me her permission to share it with you here.

Kathy said:

THE DREAM THAT I HAD THIS MORNING – IT WAS VERY PROPHETIC AND IT TOUCHED ME GREATLY

I don’t always dream dreams – most of my dreams don’t have any meaning and I forget them very soon after I dream them. To dream a prophetic dream – I only have had about 2 in all my life.

This morning at about 5 am I woke up and I went to the restroom and then expected to just stay awake, because I am an early riser. But, I was feeling extra tired, so I decided to go back to bed and try to maybe sleep for another hour or two if possible.

I fell asleep and was caught up in this dream. It was so real that I didn’t think for once that I was dreaming. A very dark force or army (like isis) had come to Hong Kong. They had been infiltrating the churches and the next thing I knew, I was taken captive by them. I remember being in a big park with many of the army all around me. I felt at the time that I was all alone. At first I was extremely frightened and fear gripped me. But then the Spirit of God came and gave me a song. I just began to sing this beautiful song loudly over and over again. As I sang one of the men in the army came over to me. I thought that he was going to slap me and tell me to shut up or even kill me. But, instead, I found that he came up to me and knelt down and hugged me and began to weep. He took off his mask and I was shocked to see a young man – probably in his teens – looking at me with big beautiful eyes and he was weeping and smiling and hugging me.

Then all of a sudden someone grabbed him and pulled him away and killed him. I then was thinking that I was the next one to be killed. At that moment I no longer felt fearful – I only felt peace and joy. I began to sing again because the song within me was overflowing. I sang loudly and this time I heard a whole chorus of people singing with me. The music was so beautiful and heavenly. Then I realized that I was not alone and that many brothers and sisters were with me. As we sang, His presence came and engulfed us in such a beautiful way!

Then the army surrounded us and pulled us roughly on to a truck. I knew that this was the end, but I couldn’t stop singing and all of those with me were singing. I was still singing and weeping for joy when I woke up. I thought – where am I? Then I realized that it was a dream. But, it was so real! I felt a bit disorientated when I realized it was a dream, because it was so very real. I knew that I was there and had experienced everything in a real way.

Sometimes we become “tranquilized” and we are so in our “comfort zone” and we think that everything that is happening with that dark army (isis) and all of the atrocities happening around the world are far away in another country. God is saying, we don’t know when these things would come to our own door step. Maybe we are experiencing this darkness already right where we are.

We are to be ready. We are to be clothed with His armor of salvation. And the thing is that we are to be ALREADY clothed. Not all of a sudden be looking for our armor when the darkness is upon us. It is too late then. And the greatest weapon is what is already in our praisehearts and in our mouths. Praise and worship is what will conquer any enemy in any situation.

Praise and worship is something that we must have already in us. Let us be filled daily with His Spirit and His praises already in our mouths. He enthrones our praises and as we can sing in the midst of the darkness we will see that the enemy not only will be conquered, but many – yes even the enemy themselves – will come to know the Lord. Praise God!

It’s happening even now as I write this. Our brothers and sisters are already experiencing this right now. Let us stand with them in prayer and in praise. Even now, many who are even part of the dark army are experiencing salvation. The Captain of the army of the Lord of Hosts, Jesus, is marching forward with His army clothed with His power and might – with a two edged sword in our hand and His high praises in our mouth – Amen!

My comment to Kathy on FB:

Wow… When I read Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, many saints called to friends that the grace was enormous and died in victory, often singing or praying. Holy dream here, Kathy. May I share it on my blog?

What about you? Has God given you a dream that will encourage, warn, or help the body of Christ in these last days? Email me your dream (send to seehope at comcast dot net) if you think it will help all of us who read this blog. Praise God!

About Lift the Cross of Jesus!

My day job is writing--I'm an author and publisher of a number of books. More on that later. But there is nothing of greater importance to me than the early morning hours I spend with the Creator of the Universe. Although He knows everything there is to know, His greatest delight isn't to give us knowledge, but to give us love. My highest joy is to watch the sun rise with notebook in hand and write the words he speaks to my heart. I want to share some of those words with you here . . . words on the cross.

Tradition states that Paul preached the gospel to the Roman soldiers as they took him to his place of execution. Supposedly, the man who was his executioner gave his life to Jesus and he, too, was executed along with Paul.
