What is Good in Your Life?

This morning as I came before the Lord on my back patio, I tried to settle my soul to stopIMG_3500 thinking about my “To Do List” and drink in the beauty of God’s creation and God’s thoughts. It wasn’t easy. I thought, I have work to do in this garden, work to do in the house, and work to do in the office. What am I DOING here?!!!

I came to the Lord apologetically for my lack of focus. I prayed, “How will I do it all?”

“What is good?” the Father asked me, deep in my heart.

“YOU. You are good,” I answered. I looked around.

The cool morning air in my face.

The sunshine on my skin.butterfly yellow on magenta cropped

The yellow flutter on magenta bloom

Against the canvas of your beloved green.

Red and lilac, pink and yellow,

bumblebee smothered in pollenBumblebees that stick to one task and do it well–

Their work clothes white from the Rose of Sharon wall paper.

What is good?

GOD is good.

All God made is good.

The throaty cry of a newborn child,

Haddock–broiled with double tartar,

IMG_3303Hazelnut coffee at daybreak.

A good pen,

New paper,

All my letters from Yahweh (God),

And the words He wrote and chose to share with the world–the Bible.

My mom in her “new” apartment,

My husband weeding while I watch. = )

My grandson’s hunger to read

And his desire to protect me from the big bear “out there”.

Well placed words are good.

Above all, the tabernacle of God is good,

Whether I find Him in music, stillness, prayer, or pen,

He is altogether lovely and the epitome of all that is good.

Yes, God is good.

Little wonder he is my pursuit.

What about you today? What have found to be the “good” that God has given you?

“Selah”. Think about that!

About Lift the Cross of Jesus!

My day job is writing--I'm an author and publisher of a number of books. More on that later. But there is nothing of greater importance to me than the early morning hours I spend with the Creator of the Universe. Although He knows everything there is to know, His greatest delight isn't to give us knowledge, but to give us love. My highest joy is to watch the sun rise with notebook in hand and write the words he speaks to my heart. I want to share some of those words with you here . . . words on the cross.

  1. Larry Who says:

“What have found to be the “good” that God has given you?”

His presence and that seems to be more than enough.
