This morning as I came before the Lord on my back patio, I tried to settle my soul to stop thinking about my “To Do List” and drink in the beauty of God’s creation and God’s thoughts. It wasn’t easy. I thought, I have work to do in this garden, work to do in the house, and work to do in the office. What am I DOING here?!!!
I came to the Lord apologetically for my lack of focus. I prayed, “How will I do it all?”
“What is good?” the Father asked me, deep in my heart.
“YOU. You are good,” I answered. I looked around.
The cool morning air in my face.
The yellow flutter on magenta bloom
Against the canvas of your beloved green.
Red and lilac, pink and yellow,
Bumblebees that stick to one task and do it well–
Their work clothes white from the Rose of Sharon wall paper.
What is good?
GOD is good.
All God made is good.
The throaty cry of a newborn child,
Haddock–broiled with double tartar,
A good pen,
New paper,
All my letters from Yahweh (God),
And the words He wrote and chose to share with the world–the Bible.
My mom in her “new” apartment,
My husband weeding while I watch. = )
My grandson’s hunger to read
And his desire to protect me from the big bear “out there”.
Well placed words are good.
Above all, the tabernacle of God is good,
Whether I find Him in music, stillness, prayer, or pen,
He is altogether lovely and the epitome of all that is good.
Yes, God is good.
Little wonder he is my pursuit.
What about you today? What have found to be the “good” that God has given you?
“Selah”. Think about that!
“What have found to be the “good” that God has given you?”
His presence and that seems to be more than enough.
