We need the baptism of the Holy Spirit so that we will be AWAKE, ALERT, and BOLD for our coming King! He is planning a wedding and YOU are in it!!
I had a dream.
I was walking on a sidewalk up a steep hill in a bride’s dress. There was a grassy area on both sides of the sidewalk.
Although I was the bride, I was not ready to walk down the aisle–there was work to be done in preparing the reception hall for after the wedding. So I was walking up the hill to the reception hall to help. I saw something to my right, in the grass. It appeared to be a large, long rectangular box that was half buried in the ground. I peered into the long box and, much to my surprise, the groom was in there! (Not my real life groom/husband, but the groom from the dream).
This groom had a long dark Amish styled beard with no moustache. (Sorry, I couldn’t find a pic without the moustache, but was AMAZED to find the one below!) He was asleep in his tuxedo! In the dream, I knew he was to get up and MOVE. The wedding was close and we needed help at the reception hall. I bent over and shook his shoulder.
“Hey, you need to wake up. Wake up!”
He barely moved, but he was breathing. I shook him again and urged him to wake up and get out of that–that–oh, MY! He was in an open CASKET! Yikes! And it was half buried in the ground and half sticking up!
Now I was alarmed! I shook him and he grumbled sleepily and told me to leave him alone.
“Why are you waking me up? Leave me alone.”
He simply would not wake up. He even asked me to put the lid to the casket down.
I thought, NO WAY!
I knew my responsibility was to the reception hall at that moment. The groom grumped at me, turned his head away, and went back to sleep. I lifted a prayer to heaven that God would deal with the groom because I tried and got nowhere. I kept walking up the hill toward the reception hall and then I woke up.
Well, that’s the end of the dream anyway. Do you see an analogy here? Perhaps a dream interpretation? I hope the dream helps you to see the picture. And remember, the bride of Christ includes all of us, men and women together.
Now, we know that Satan has legal access to the courtroom of God. What is God to do? The Accuser of the Brethren, Satan, walks in and accuses the church, the real church, of being asleep.
Down on our turf, Satan tempts the shallow believers, those who are growing in rocky soil, to seek their own happiness in God. To them, God is a means of personal gain. They do not surrender all, they demand all–all their wants and wishes. They cling to the “joy” of the Lord, but not the Lord Himself. While it is true, He is the God of benefits, He is not a limitless credit card.
What can the righteous do? I will give you the sermon that the Lord gave me this morning!
“Not ALL sleep! There is a remnant that is awake to the voice of God and those who hear His voice will arise and prepare and announce to those sleepers, ‘CHRIST IS COMING! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!”
I earnestly beg you–please–listen for His voice. Any moment now . . .
