2020–The Year of Battle in the Heavenlies

IMG_8438This morning in my garden of prayer, the Lord told me to write what I hear.  I heard:

The elections are upon us next year.  The battles we saw four years ago will pale in comparison to what is coming.  Campaigns will shift from collecting votes to conquering those who oppose their agendas.  Speeches of good will shall become stages of wrath and violence.  This violence will magnify itself and pour out of campaign coliseums and into the streets.

God is calling Christians to engage on their knees, for the wrath of man will not work the righteousness of God.  (James 1:20)

2020 will be the year of American elections in the natural, but in truth it will be the year of intense spiritual battles in the heavenlies.  Children of God, put on the armor of God, with shoes of peace wherever you go–that you may be able to stand in the evil day.

Listen!  LISTEN!

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.  (James 1:19-21, Holy Bible)

Do not engage in the natural with rants, accusations, or throwing political mud.  Hold your peace with men and engage in the heavenlies.  Bridle your tongue before men and run to God.

In 2020, more will be accomplished through prayer than this world ever dreamed.

Lift up the cross!

Lift up the American flag!

Lead the march with singing!

For the Lord, He is God.  All of heaven and earth will bow before Him.

Do NOT point your fingers and yell at people.  Save your breath for prayer, where your words will do the most good.

About Lift the Cross of Jesus!

My day job is writing--I'm an author and publisher of a number of books. More on that later. But there is nothing of greater importance to me than the early morning hours I spend with the Creator of the Universe. Although He knows everything there is to know, His greatest delight isn't to give us knowledge, but to give us love. My highest joy is to watch the sun rise with notebook in hand and write the words he speaks to my heart. I want to share some of those words with you here . . . words on the cross.

    good Word. Thank you!

  2. Julie says:

Thank you dear Hope for preparing us for the battle that’s coming! May we rally together to fight the good fight of faith on our knees!

    • So glad this bears witness with you, Julie. God wants His family to rally together now, take our stand with HIM and not try to fight this in our humanity, but with His mighty power. “Onward Christian Soldiers”–with the cross of Jesus, going on before. Hallelujah!

  3. Linda Amaro says:

So absolutely true!! I thought the last election brought so much unnecessary strife amongst people but your words are so true..instead of engaging in hurtful words, take your words in prayer ❤

    • Exactly. The Lord is showing me a lot of hatred, bitterness, strife, and plots of violence. I believe that God will protect us from violence and empower us to overcome each work of the devil. Ephesians 6–he is scheming even now to undo us. No matter. God is planning to OUTDO his works and save people who so desperately need Him. Thanks for chiming in here, Linda!

  4. Hope! Such a powerful and timely word.

    • Michael, I know that the same alarm bells are going off in your spirit. God is preparing us before it unfolds so we engage with God’s plan and not react to the wiles of the devil. Oh, be careful little mouth what we say!

  5. Lorraine Rush says:

Haven’t seen one of these in awhile.  Good to see it again.

    • It’s been some time since I blogged. Thanks for your encouraging words. Check out Facebook–lots of comments there, too. God help us to speak only in obedience to Him during 2020 elections.

      • Phyllis Lindeboom says:

Thank you Hope. I appreciate your sensitivity in hearing and your obedience in writing what was spoken to you. I knew it is going to tough with lots of falsehoods and schemes. And I know truly in my heart that I need to pray more than ever but I have to confess, I too get caught up in agitation when I hear or see all the lies and verbalize my thoughts too quickly. This word puts it all in perspective. So timely for me!

      • Phyllis, you are so humble to confess a personal fault. You are an example to all of us. We ponder the preposterous and are tempted to jump up and retort. But in this season we will do better to remain hidden in Christ until He directs our next move, our next word. THEN our presence here will pack a punch! A God powered move to plunder hell and populate heaven. I would imagine you see this more clearly after your years in military service.
